چکیده
This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of mesiobuccal 2(MB2) canals not located/treated in maxillary molars and correlated their non-treatment with presence periradicular lesion. The was conducted on 180 cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans. examinations added up 210 teeth analyzed (140 first 70 second molars). non-located/treated MB2 periapical lesions mesiobucal(MB) root identified by observation axial subsequently sagittal coronal slices. Among evaluated, 91.4% (n=192) had canal, while 8.6% (n=18) did have this canal. In (n=133), lesion observed 85.0% (n=113). (n=59), 72.9% (n=43). Evaluation of the Root and Canal Morphology of Maxillary Permanent Molars and the Incidence of the Second Mesiobuccal Root Canal in Greek Population Using Cone-beam Computed Tomography
OBJECTIVES Cone-Beam Computed Tomography is an alternative imaging technique which has been recently introduced in the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology. It has rapidly gained great popularity among clinicians due to its ability to detect lesions and defects of the orofacial region and provide three-dimensional information about them. In the field of Endodontics, CBCT can be a useful tool...
متن کاملPrevalence and location of the secondary mesiobuccal canal in 1,100 maxillary molars using cone beam computed tomography
BACKGROUND Several articles have used cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) to study the morphology of the maxillary molars and to ascertain its ability to visualize the second mesiobuccal canal (MB2); however, its geometric location has not been examined in depth. The aim of this study was to describe in vivo the prevalence and location of the MB2 in the mesiobuccal root of the first maxillary ...
متن کاملRoot and canal morphology of maxillary second molars by cone-beam computed tomography in a native Chinese population
Objective To evaluate the root and root canal morphology of the maxillary second molars (MSMs) in a native Chinese population by cone-beam computed tomography. Methods Cone-beam computed tomography images of 2412 MSMs from 1294 Chinese patients were analyzed to determine the number and morphology of the roots, the root canal morphology, the bilateral symmetry, and the correlations of these para...
متن کاملCone-beam computed tomography study of prevalence and location of MB2 canal in the mesiobuccal root of the maxillary second molar.
The maxillary second molar (2 MM) has the most complex root canal system, and a high percentage of treatment failures is due to the impossibility of locating, instrumenting and obturating the second mesiobuccal canal (MB2). The aim of this study was to describe in vivo the prevalence and location of the MB2 canal in the mesiobuccal root of the permanent maxillary second molar through CBCT image...
متن کاملEvaluation of root canal morphology of maxillary molars using cone beam computed tomography
OBJECTIVES The success of endodontic treatment is based on cleaning and shaping of the root canals. The root canals have complex morphology and wide individual variations. The objective of this study was to analyze root canals morphology and existence of extra canals in maxillary molars in Saudi subpopulation. METHODS Freshly extracted maxillary first molars (n=100) were included in this stud...
